The Experience Union County Needs to Move Forward
A 1978 graduate of Bucknell University, Stacy returned to Union County in 2003 to found and manage the Energy Resource Center at SEDA-Council of Governments. There she assisted businesses, local governments, non-profit organizations, residents and entire communities to reduce their energy use and costs. Millions of dollars are being saved annually within the region as a result of the educational seminars, training programs and technical assistance that Stacy developed and delivered. Not only is wealth being re-circulated within the region due energy savings, but new local businesses that meet growing demand for clean energy technology have been created.
Based on the success of the New Berlin
Community-wide Energy Independence Project
conducted in 2009 - 2012, Stacy authored the
national award-winning manual Energizing
Small Communities: A Guide to Energy Independence and Economic Resiliency. Many communities have used this comprehensive guide to retain wealth through energy use
reduction best practices and processes.
Having returned full-time in 2017 to her consulting firm, Stacy Richards & Associates, Stacy continues to assist our region to become a center for efficient and renewable energy technology and expertise.
Stacy will bring a unique skill set to the Union County Board of Commissioners based on her policy development and program delivery effectiveness at the local, regional, state and national levels.
Her experience spans:
